Christopher Columbus Day

I woke up yesterday morning feeling really homesick so Matt suggested we take the kids into the city. He didn't have class because of the holiday, so we hopped on a train (the train station is 4 minutes! from our house) and within the hour we were right downtown. We didn't really have an agenda, so we just enjoyed walking around and spending time together.

We went to Faneuil Hall, ate lunch, walked over to North End (the Italian section of the city) for pastries from Mike's Pastry, ate our pastries at Christopher Columbus Park (seemed fitting), HD rode a carousel and then we headed back home. It was a pretty chilly morning and afternoon, but we kept the kids bundled and they did really well. HD loved being on the train and of course the carousel.

It was a fun family outing before we basically had to say goodbye to Matt for the next three months. Matt and I were talking last night and we both wish that every day could be like yesterday. But I guess that isn't reality...at least not yet!
